May 11, 2025 Welcome to Trinity! 9:00 am
Basic Theme: After the resurrection, Jesus’ followers found themselves asking,“ What’ s next?” Their journey with Christ wasn’ t ending— it was just beginning. This four-part series explores how Jesus’ postresurrection appearances and the growth of the early church in Acts provide a model for living as His disciples today. From encountering Jesus on the road to Emmaus to the formation of a thriving, Spiritfilled community, we will discover how faith moves us from uncertainty to action, from isolation to connection, and from questioning to purpose. Together, we will explore what it means to be Christ’ s church in the world today.
Sermon Snapshot( Key Points): Timothy grew strong in faith because of his mother, Eunice, and grandmother, Lois. Their devotion shaped his spiritual journey, preparing him to serve the early church. Parents and spiritual mentors play a vital role in passing on the faith. Whether through words, actions, or prayers, we are all called to nurture faith in the next generation.
So What? Who has played a role in shaping your faith? Have you thanked them? How can you intentionally disciple your children, grandchildren, or those in your sphere of influence? What small step can you take today to plant seeds of faith in the next generation?
Scripture Reading: Acts 16:1-5; Deuteronomy 6:4-9( NIV)
1
Paul came to Derbe and then to Lystra, where a disciple named Timothy lived, whose mother was Jewish and a believer but whose father was a Greek. 2 The believers at Lystra and Iconium spoke well of him. 3 Paul wanted to take him along on the journey, so he circumcised him because of the Jews who lived in that area, for they all knew that his father was a Greek. 4 As they traveled from town to town, they delivered the decisions reached by the apostles and elders in Jerusalem for the people to obey. 5 So the churches were strengthened in the faith and grew daily in numbers.
