June 7, 2026 Welcome to Trinity!
Basic Theme: This series explores Old Testament pioneers whose bold steps of faith blazed trails of obedience, trust, and redemption. Their stories inspire us to enrich our faith through deeper daily reliance on God, engage in serving others with the fruit of the Spirit, and expand our faith family by intentionally inviting friends, neighbors, coworkers, and family into the same life-changing promises. As Paul challenges us in 1 Timothy 4:7-8, we are called to“ train ourselves to be godly.” These pioneers model the spiritual training that builds lasting godliness with value for this life and the life to come.
Sermon Snapshot( Key Points): Samuel learned to recognize and respond to God’ s voice with a willing heart:“ Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.” His attentive obedience models pioneering a listening faith. As Paul urges us to train ourselves to be godly, we cultivate quiet attentiveness, serve others with faithfulness, and expand our faith family by helping those around us hear and obey God’ s call.
So What? How well are you currently training yourself to hear God’ s voice? What distractions keep you from responding quickly when God speaks? Who in your circle could you help learn to recognize and obey God’ s call?
Do This! Set aside 10 – 15 minutes each day this week praying,“ Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening!” Then wait … and listen.
Scripture Reading: 1 Timothy 4:7-8; 1 Samuel 3:8-10, 19( NIV)

Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be godly. 8 For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.

“ A third time the Lord called,‘ Samuel!’ And Samuel got up and went to Eli and said,‘ Here I am; you called me.’ Then Eli realized that the Lord was calling the boy. 9 So Eli told Samuel,‘ Go and lie down, and if he calls you, say,“ Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.”’ So Samuel went and lay down in his place. 10 The Lord came and stood there, calling as at the other times,‘ Samuel! Samuel!’ Then Samuel said,‘ Speak, for your servant is listening.’ 19 The Lord was with Samuel as he grew up, and he let none of Samuel’ s words fall to the ground.”
