ORDER OF WORSHIP June 20, 2025 | Page 4

July 20, 2025 Welcome to Trinity!

Basic Theme: Our church is a family of faith where‘ You Belong Here,’ united in God’ s love as a place for all. Rooted in scripture, we reflect our shared identity in Christ, deepening our connection through support and welcome. We long for others beyond these walls to experience this love, inviting them into a family that reveals God’ s embrace— a belonging that grows within us and shines outward. Our underlying scripture for this series is Ephesians 4:15-16,“ Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.” This passage ties our shared identity to a family growing in love, where“ You Belong Here” invites all to experience God’ s embrace.
Sermon Snapshot( Key Points): Our shared identity in this family of faith says‘ You Belong Here,’ shining in weakness. 2 Samuel 22 has David praising God’ s faithfulness, a light in his frailty— our family’ s strength. Paul, in 2 Corinthians 12, boasts of a thorn, Christ’ s power resting there. Here, it’ s childcare for a single mom or comfort for the grieving— our collective‘ You Belong Here’ as is. Beyond, it’ s sharing flaws with a friend, revealing God’ s grace. Practical steps: open up in small group, seek help, or lift someone’ s burden. This isn’ t shame— it’ s who we are, a family strong in Christ, reflecting His love to all.
So What? Why do you belong here, at Trinity Church? How can you lean on us to show‘ You Belong Here’ in weakness? How can sharing struggles outside reveal God’ s strength?
Scripture Reading: 2 Samuel 22:26-31; 2 Corinthians 12:7b-10( NIV)
26
“ To the faithful you show yourself faithful, to the blameless you show yourself blameless, 27 to the pure you show yourself pure, but to the devious you show yourself shrewd. 28 You save the humble, but your eyes are on the haughty to bring them low. 29 You, Lord, are my lamp; the Lord turns my darkness into light. 30 With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall. 31“ As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord’ s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him.
Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. 8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9 But he said to me,“ My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’ s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’ s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
