Basic Theme: This series explores Old Testament pioneers whose bold steps of faith blazed trails of obedience, trust, and redemption. Their stories inspire us to enrich our faith through deeper daily reliance on God, engage in serving others with the fruit of the Spirit, and expand our faith family by intentionally inviting friends, neighbors, coworkers, and family into the same life-changing promises. As Paul challenges us in 1 Timothy 4:7-8, we are called to“ train ourselves to be godly.” These pioneers model the spiritual training that builds lasting godliness with value for this life and the life to come.

“ Look,” said Naomi,“ your sister-in-law is going back to her people and her gods. Go back with her.”

But Ruth replied,“ Don’ t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. 17 Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord deal with me, be it ever so severely, if even death separates you and me.”
