ORDER OF WORSHIP February 15, 2026 | Page 4

February 15, 2026 Welcome to Trinity!

Basic Theme:
The Transfiguration is the moment Jesus’ glory broke through on a mountaintop: His face shone like the sun, His clothes became dazzling white, and the Father’ s voice declared,“ This is My beloved Son— listen to Him.” This brief revelation of heavenly splendor strengthens Jesus( and the disciples) for the valley of suffering ahead. On Missions Sunday, we remember that every glimpse of glory is given not to keep, but to send us back down into the valleys with Good News.
Sermon Snapshot( Key Points):
Six days after predicting His death, Jesus takes Peter, James, and John up the mountain. There He is transfigured— radiant with divine glory— joined by Moses and Elijah. Peter wants to stay forever, but the Father interrupts:“ Listen to Him!” Then glory vanishes, and Jesus leads them back down to the valley and a waiting cross. Mountaintop experiences are real, but they always serve the mission in the valley. Transfiguration is never the end; it is fuel for the journey downward.
So What?
When God has given you a“ mountaintop” moment( worship, retreat, mission trip), have you tried to camp there instead of letting it send you back down with greater boldness? Who in your everyday valley( co-worker, neighbor, unreached people group) is still waiting for the light you saw on the mountain to reach them? Are you more excited about experiencing Jesus’ glory for yourself or about obeying His voice that sends you to suffering places?
Do This!
This week, prayerfully choose one person or people group who lives in a“ valley” far from the gospel( could be next door or across the globe). Write their name( s) on a card. Place the card on your nightstand. Every morning and evening for seven days, pray,“ Lord, let the glory I have seen become Good News they hear through me.” Then take one concrete action— give, write, go, invite, or send— so the light moves downhill.
