ORDER OF WORSHIP August 30, 2026 | Page 4

August 30, 2026 Welcome to Trinity!

Basic Theme:
In Galatians 5:22-23, Paul describes the fruit of the Spirit as the visible evidence of a life led by the Holy Spirit rather than the flesh. This four-week series pairs the nine fruits to help our congregation understand, embrace, and cultivate love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. We’ ll explore how these qualities aren’ t achieved by willpower alone but grow as we surrender to the Spirit’ s work. Through biblical teaching and practical steps, we’ ll learn to abide in Christ, yielding our lives to His transforming power so that our character reflects Jesus and impacts our relationships, workplaces, and witness in a fruitless world.
Sermon Snapshot( Key Points):
The final fruits emphasize steadfastness, humble strength, and disciplined living. In 1 Timothy 6, Paul urges pursuing faith, endurance, and gentleness while fighting the good fight. The Spirit produces faithfulness in our commitments to God and others, gentleness in our interactions, and self-control over desires and impulses. We’ ll discuss how these qualities mark mature believers and contrast with the world’ s self-promotion and lack of restraint. Yielding to the Spirit brings consistency and Christlike humility in our daily walk.
So What?
Where in my life do I struggle with faithfulness in commitments to God or others? How can the Spirit help me respond with gentleness rather than harshness in conflict?
What habits or areas need greater selfcontrol, and how will I invite the Spirit’ s power there?
Do This!
This week, practice self-control by saying“ no” to one unnecessary indulgence and use that time for prayer or serving others faithfully with gentleness.
Scripture: Galatians 5:22-23; 1 Timothy 6:11-12( NIV)
22
“ But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”
11
But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
