Basic Theme:
In Galatians 5:22-23, Paul describes the fruit of the Spirit as the visible evidence of a life led by the Holy Spirit rather than the flesh. This four-week series pairs the nine fruits to help our congregation understand, embrace, and cultivate love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. We’ ll explore how these qualities aren’ t achieved by willpower alone but grow as we surrender to the Spirit’ s work. Through biblical teaching and practical steps, we’ ll learn to abide in Christ, yielding our lives to His transforming power so that our character reflects Jesus and impacts our relationships, workplaces, and witness in a fruitless world.
Sermon Snapshot( Key Points):
In a chaotic world, the Spirit offers supernatural peace and patience. Romans 5 reminds us that justification by faith brings peace with God, and trials produce perseverance( patience) leading to hope through the Holy Spirit. We’ ll discuss how peace isn’ t the absence of conflict but the presence of God, and patience is endurance empowered by the Spirit. Learn to trust God’ s timing and sovereignty instead of anxiety or frustration. This fruit grows as we fix our eyes on Christ amid suffering and daily irritations.

Where in my life do I lack peace because I’ m not fully trusting in God’ s sovereignty? How do I typically respond to difficult people or situations that test my patience? What would it look like to let the Spirit produce patience in a specific challenging relationship or circumstance this week?

When facing a frustrating situation this week, pause, pray for the Spirit’ s peace and patience, and respond with calm endurance instead of reacting.

“ But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and selfcontrol. Against such things there is no law.”

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’ s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
