Caring for Our Church: A Summer of Progress
As we begin the fall season, the Trustees would like to take a moment to share with the congregation some of the work and improvements that have been taking place around our church over the summer.
We are blessed with a wonderful church family and a facility that allows us to worship, gather, fellowship, and serve our community. Part of our responsibility as Trustees is to make sure we are taking good care of what God has entrusted to us. This summer has been a busy one, with a number of projects focused on safety, security, accessibility, comfort, and long-term stewardship.
Parking Lot & Traffic Improvements
6
• Our parking lot has been completely paved, giving us a safer and smoother surface for everyone.
• Additional accessible parking spaces were added, including van-accessible parking.
• The canopy door / awning area was revamped to help improve traffic flow and make entering and exiting the church easier and safer.
• New lighting was added to the parking lot to improve visibility and security.
Safety & Security
• A new security system with updated technology has been installed.
• Additional cameras have been added to improve security around the church.
• Keyless entry technology is being installed, providing greater security while making access more convenient for those who need it.
Building Improvements & Maintenance
• Part of the church office has been painted, with the remainder of the painting on the way.
• Our Internet system was repaired and upgraded to provide more reliable service.
• An energy audit was completed, and our HVAC set points have been adjusted to better match the times and spaces in which the church is being used. This means we are no longer heating or cooling areas when they aren ' t needed, helping us use our resources more wisely.
• All HVAC equipment was inspected, and four heat exchangers are being replaced before winter to help ensure the safety and comfort of everyone using our building.
• New lighting has been added to the sanctuary.
Activities Building
• A new door was installed on the Activities Building.
• The roof was resealed to help prevent leaks and protect the building.
While some of these improvements may be easy to see, others are working quietly behind the scenes. Together, they help make our church a safer, more comfortable, more accessible, and more efficient place for everyone.
The Trustees are thankful for the congregation ' s support and patience as we continue working to care for our church. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve in this way and to help make sure our facilities are ready for the many worship services, gatherings, ministries, and fellowship opportunities still to come.
Thank you for your continued support and for being part of our church family. We look forward to continuing this work together!
