The Witch of Blackbird Pond is a 1958 historical fiction novel by Elizabeth George Speare and our choice for reading and discussing in May. Set in 17th-century Puritan Connecticut, it won the 1959 Newbery Medal. It follows 16-year-old Kit Tyler, who moves from Barbados to live with stern relatives and struggles with the rigid society, finding freedom with elderly Quaker woman, Hannah Tupper, who is accused of witchcraft, leading to Kit facing similar accusations herself. The book explores themes of prejudice, tolerance, and finding one ' s identity. Please join us as Liz Murphy leads the discussion.

looming news for may Trinity volunteers and friends started early in 2024 transforming bags into“ plarn”( plastic yarn), which is then woven into mats on looms. As of this date 92 sleeping mats have completed!
The mats provide both insulation from the cold and a waterproof surface for individuals experiencing homelessness and, in some cases, victims of natural disasters. This ministry, which was inspired by a mission trip to Midwest Mission, fosters community involvement and provides a way to reduce waste while helping others.
Most of the Trinity sleeping mats are distributed to the homeless locally through our mat donations to Love Unlimited Community Outreach. These mats which are distributed locally, statewide and sometimes internationally, are providing a tangible act of kindness and a comfortable resting option. Join us and bring a friend. You are invited to work on sleeping mats for those in need, have fellowship and make new friends in the Trinity Mission Depot room # 32, any Tuesday, 9am-12 noon.
