Continued from page 1 – enjoying the journey
So, I want to gently encourage you to keep giving as you’ re able. Your continued support means we can stay focused on ministry more than finances.
We wrapped up our“ Grow” sermon series on May 31, and I’ m thankful for the way so many of you engaged with it. It was good to watch our church family lean into the idea of personal growth and growing stronger together. Now we turn our attention to a new eight-week summer series called“ Pioneers of Promise,” which begins on Sunday, June 7, and runs through July 26.
This series looks at some of the bold men and women in the Old Testament who stepped out in faith and blazed new trails of obedience and trust. Their stories remind us how God works through ordinary people who simply say yes to Him. We will see how their examples can help us enrich our own daily walk with God, serve others with kindness, and reach out to friends, neighbors, coworkers, and family with the same life-changing promises we’ ve received. As Paul wrote in 1 Timothy 4:7-8, we are called to“ train ourselves to be godly.” These pioneers show us what that kind of training looks like and why it matters both now and for eternity.
Summer can be a relaxed season, but it’ s also a great time to stay connected. Our gatherings are about building real relationships: praying for one another, checking in on each other, sharing life’ s ups and downs, and remembering that we need one another as a church family. That’ s why I hope you’ ll keep showing up. Come to worship on Sundays. Stay involved in a small group. Participate in Sunday School. When you’ re not here, we are not quite complete, something is missing without you. These are the places where faith grows and friendships deepen.
We are still praying for the right person or couple to lead our new Sunday School class. If you’ ve been sensing a nudge in that direction, please reach out. We’ d love to sit down and talk with you about it.
June through August is full of
travel, family visits, and extra activities for many of us. That’ s wonderful, but let’ s not drift too far from each other or from the Lord in the process. I am looking forward to what God has in store for us in the weeks ahead.
The invitation extended by Jesus to his earliest disciples continues to be offered to us,“ Follow me.” Will we extend that invitation to others? We may not always know where we are going, but we know who we are following. God is faithful. Therefore, we expect great things, and we are certain we will enjoy the ride! Blessings!
