The Book Club is going back to some favorites . In January we will discuss Christy by Catherine Marshall . In the year 1912 , nineteen-year-old Christy Huddleston leaves home to teach school in the Smoky Mountains and comes to know and love the resilient people of the region , with their fierce pride , their dark superstitions , their terrible poverty , and their yearning for beauty and truth . But her faith will be severely challenged by trial and tragedy , by the needs and unique strengths of two remarkable young men , and by a heart torn between true love and unwavering devotion . Join us and bring a friend . You are invited to work on sleeping mats , have fellowship and make new friends in the Mission Depot , room 32 , at Trinity on any Tuesday from 9am to 12 noon . As of early December , 31 mats were completed ! The majority have been given to Love Unlimited , a local organization that aids the unhoused of New Albany . Six mats were taken to Midwest Mission in early December to be shipped overseas . First Tuesday Lunch – On the first Tuesday of each month , bring your lunch and we will eat together after working on mats .
