Continued from page 1 – enjoying the journey
Sharing life— laughing, praying, and walking through the highs and lows— makes us all stronger. If you’ re not yet in a small group or Sunday School class, please consider joining one soon. And if you are, keep showing up. We’ re still praying for the right person to lead our new Sunday School class. If you feel God might be calling you to teach, please reach out. It’ s a great way to invest in others and help them take their next steps in faith.
As spring approaches, our Lenten series“ Thy Kingdom Come” is ending, and Holy Week offers us a meaningful chance to reflect on Jesus’ love and sacrifice. Put these services on your calendar:
• Maundy Thursday, April 2nd at 7:00 pm: We’ ll retell the story of the Last Supper, remember Jesus washing the disciples’ feet as an example of humble service, and hear His new commandment:“ Love one another.” It’ s a quiet, heartfelt evening.
• Good Friday, April 3rd at 7:00 pm: We’ ll walk through the events of that day, including the crucifixion, and consider what it cost Jesus to bring us forgiveness and new life.
Then, we wait with hope for Easter morning. Our Sunrise Service at 7:00 am will be a simple time of responsive liturgy, song, and communion as the day begins. At 9:00 am, our traditional service will feature orchestral accompaniment, and at 11:11 am, our casual service will be full of vibrant praise music. All three promise to be joyful celebrations of the resurrection as we celebrate Christ alone as King. Easter is the perfect time to invite a friend, coworker, or family member to join you. There’ s nothing like sharing the hope we have in Christ with someone close to you.
On April 12th, we’ ll have a single combined service at 10:00 am for Laity Sunday, with a special emphasis on music. Afterward, we’ ll share an allchurch meal at 11:15. The church will provide fried chicken and ham— bring your favorite sides and desserts to round it out. Check with your Sunday School class to see if they’ ll meet at 9:00 am.
Following Easter, we’ ll launch a new series called“ Grow.” Just as spring brings fresh growth everywhere we
look, this series will focus on how we grow as individual followers of Jesus and as a church family. Our gatherings are all about relationships, building real connections, encouraging one another, and supporting each other through whatever life brings. So, keep making Sunday worship a priority, stay involved in small groups and Sunday School, and show up when you can. When you’ re not present, the family feels incomplete. Your place here matters.
I’ m grateful to walk this road with all of you and I’ m excited for what God has in store for us this year. The invitation extended by Jesus to his earliest disciples continues to be offered to us,“ Follow me.” Will we extend that invitation to others? We may not always know where we are going, but we know who we are following. God is faithful. Therefore, we expect great things, and we are certain we will enjoy the ride!
Blessings!
