In September and October , we ’ re moving into the New Testament once again . Love Letters is a sermon series exploring Paul ’ s transformative encounter with God on the Damascus Road and how it shaped his heartfelt letters to early Christian communities . Each sermon delves into themes of grace , redemption , and the power of God ’ s love as revealed through Paul ’ s writings . Love Letters emphasizes how Paul ’ s church planting efforts laid the foundation for the early church and shaped the trajectory of Christianity . Paul ’ s Epistles serve as timeless Love Letters , guiding and encouraging all believers in their faith journeys . The Apostle Paul was fully committed to sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ and growing the early church . He planted churches , equipped new believers , and encouraged them to continue the work God had birthed in him . I wonder if Paul ever fathomed his Love Letters would still inspire Christians 2000 years after his death ? We are invited to build upon this legacy of faith , hope , and love as we participate in the same mission and seek to grow Trinity Church . Like Paul , I am committed to communicating the Good News of Jesus Christ and growing God ’ s Church . As a body of believers , we are uniquely equipped to participate in God ’ s redeeming work in our community . We must wholeheartedly believe that people ’ s lives are made better , richer , and fuller through a relationship with Jesus Christ and invite them to join our church family . We must effectively communicate that we want something for them when many believe the church only wants something from them . We must genuinely want them to have a transformative encounter with God so that they can experience the unconditional and uncompromising love of our Heavenly Father . Everyone should have received a letter about Trinity ’ s current financial situation . While it is challenging , it is not insurmountable . God has been faithful to provide the necessary resources for our church to continue to thrive in an economic climate that has been devastating for many churches .
Like many of our fellow churches , Trinity has been operating in recovery mode for the last two or three years . However , unlike many of our sister churches , Trinity is growing and momentum is building due in large part to your commitment and faithfulness . I hope you will prayerfully consider what you can contribute through your time , your talent , and your treasure as we seek to continue what God has begun . God is at work among us at Trinity Church and I remain optimistic and excited about the future . The invitation extended by Jesus to his earliest disciples continues to be offered to us , “ Follow me .” Will we extend that invitation to others ? We may not always know where we are going , but we know whom we are following . God is faithful . Therefore , we expect great things and we are certain we will enjoy the ride !
Blessings !
